Elon Musk’s XPRIZE Carbon Removal Initiative Selects Tao Climate as One of the World’s Top 100 Most Promising Carbon Removal Companies
XPRIZE Top 100 member Hempoffset – Tao Climate is on a mission to remove a gigatonne of CO2 from the atmosphere by 2030, and use the carbon to build sustainable housing for hundreds of millions of people. Using industrial hemp to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, and hempcrete to build housing, Tao Climate brings a unique and effective Carbon Credit innovation to market. Tao Climate’s Green FinTech platform enables the creation and sale of these world-leading Carbon Credits, which turn carbon compliance from a sunk cost to an asset, a remarkable effect the company calls ‘Return on Sustainability’.
The company has actively participated in the XPRIZE Carbon Removal initiative since 2021, and achieved all milestones. This Top 100 validation by the world’s leading carbon removal scientists and innovators enhances Tao Climate’s position as a global leader in effective carbon removal. The Tao Climate XPRIZE finalist submission featured a Ukraine hempcrete reconstruction project, in collaboration with Hemp Technology, Ukraine.
